Physical preparationThis trip doesn't require a specific physical preparation. Addicted to mountaineering and trekking, I have already done some climbing in high altitudes (in the Huayhuash Cordillera in Peru and around the Annapurna in Nepal). More important is to respect local customs, to be fit and mindful of my health. By the way, this last point needs preparation. I have learned the basics forced by circumstances in Gabon. But I'm improving my skills in this field with doctors or nurses and will also take a first aid course. Administrative preparationAdministrative preparation will mainly consist of obtaining visas. An important part of the success of this expedition is based on a certain ethic of travel and so the respect of local rules. Administrative procedures often appear to be laborious, but shouldn't be overlooked. The intervention of local contacts, to present and highlight this project should be assets to get all necessary authorizations. The first two visas will be obtained in France, then as the trip proceeds. Financial preparationThis file will help me to apply for grants and to see different organizations (regional, national, firms related to water, scientists, specialized shops...) in order to get their interest on the project and to support it, financially as well as morally or materially. Of course, regular saving is my contribution. (The budget is presented next page) |
