The idea of the project

Water... an element everybody talks about: unpredictable, fragile, insufficient here, overabundant or non exploitable there, a cause of conflicts or happiness, unequally available but always fascinating. It even steals the show from other big issues when it is nominated "the major issue of the 21th century". But water is first of all an extraordinary link between humans, whose whims remind us of our human condition.

Involved in my job as a water construction engineer, interested in all existing or future hydraulic projects, fascinated by the power and beauty of water, thrilled by the unknown, in quest of an ideal and always eager to meet other people, the cocktail resulting has been a journey where water is the most freakish element of nature: Baïkal - Bangkok, at the mercy of seasons and down the stream.

A journey, meant to provoke water in its extremes and thus draw me closer to different populations that keep trying to domesticate it. To experience with them some moments of their lives and to pass these on to the western world as a testimony, in response to our constant search for comfort and easy life. A human approach to make us aware and rediscover the countless aspects of water: its beauty, scarcity, secrets and setbacks it may inflict upon us.
